Crafting a Tasty but Quick Salsa

The sweetness of pineapple adds an unexpected touch to the familiar taco flavours of onion, cilantro, and lime. The key to the salsa is the balance – the pineapple should be ripe for a bright, juicy note, you can add diced jalapeños to provide a pleasant heat that contrasts with the coolness of the fruit. Red onion’s sharpness and the herbal freshness of cilantro round out the ensemble, while a pinch of salt brings the flavors into harmonious alignment.

This salsa is not just a condiment; it’s a sidekick that can stand up on its own. If you have leftovers, it’s fantastic with tortilla chips or as a topping for grilled chicken or white fish. It’s also a splendid entry in the Great Taco Pairings Debate, which we just invented.
